would you be able to translate the video on Dir en Grey's website, they each only say a few things. I was kinda wondering what are are. If not no worries, I know you said you're not good with spoken Japanese or with men speakers but yeah, just wondering.
I don’t think so. I’ve watched it like 25 times, and Die is the only one I can completely understand. I can probably figure out what Kaoru and Toshiya are saying, or a near proximity, anyway, but after Shinya and Kyo, I was burnt out on listening to low-pitched, fast manspeak.
Shinya says something that makes no sense to me so I think I heard it wrong, and I can’t even tell if Kyo is speaking Japanese. If he is, he’s not using words I know. I may have to go into the dvd and see what he says before and after that clip for context.
I plan to watch again later when my brain is less fried and use headphones so I can hear it better, but as of now, nope. I can’t translate it. Too mumbley and fast for me.
Whatever you want to translate is ok! thanks you for everything, but would be so nice if you translate MASSIVE interview.
I think TranslationChannel might be working on it. I’m not sure; you’d have to ask her. She’s a lot better than I am at working from scans, and she seems better than I am at Japanese, so it’s best left in her hands. :)
what about translating video interview? i mean this with Toshiya at nico nico. is it too much for you, buddycat-san?
It’s too much for me. Spoken Japanese takes way too long for me to translate, especially if it’s a man who is speaking (when I speak Japanese, it is always with women, so I’m not used to listening to men). Sorry. :(
There are only four poems left in Kyo’s Jigyaku poem book, and the one I’m on now is difficult, so I’m contemplating my next project while I procrastinate. I have the books Dragonfly (which is mostly just stupid pictures) and the Manipulated Life (which has a bunch of articles, interviews, etc., as well as tons of amazing pictures), and a tattoo book with an interview with Kaoru. I haven’t seen the pictures from the inside of the tattoo book on the internet yet (not that I’ve really searched), so that’s a possibility. I also have that most recent Ongaku to hito interview with Kyo. It’s just dauntingly long.
Maybe just a few questions at a time. Do any of you have any suggestions/ requests?
The thing that fits into the tape deck in my car and allows me to listen to my ipod has an issue. I guess the wire that plays the right speaker no longer works. So now, all I can hear is Kyo, Kaoru and Shinya. Kyo’s harmony, Die and Toshiya are missing.
I have to tell you, Dir en grey is not nearly as impactful as a trio.

Since the last time I was really active on it, J-pop Asia has changed the requirements to edit their lyrics. Because some of the songs are pretty badly mis-translated, I want to fix them, but before I can do that, I have to earn 300 “J-pops.” The way to get these stupid things is to write in your journal. So I wrote an account of a meet-and-greet I attended after one Dir en grey show I went to. Check it out if you’re interested. It’s pretty long, and I’m unclear on how to use the “read more” thing on Tumblr, so you have to go to J-pop Asia to read it.
